Resources and Access/Gender/Geography
Gender inequality has a major
impact on resources and access. Unequal access to healthcare, education,
disparity in income, degree of social and political inclusion, gendered
divisions of labor as well as social and cultural factors, all impact the
agency and opportunity women have when it comes to resources and access. They also affect the management and use of resources. According to Domosh
and Seager, men are more “technologically reliant” while women are more
concerned with nature, (environmental costs) which is associated with the household.
In some countries of the global South, women are often denied access and
management of resources that involve technology or property/land (“the field”).
This is often related to certain aspects that women are frequently denied (lack
of education, income, social and political inclusion, are a few of several
examples).
